Echoes 2004
In 2004, Leo Fialho and Nina Hayden produced a new film adaptation of Lawrence C. Connolly’s “Echoes.” Directed by Rodney Altman, Echoes won Best Achievement in Cinematography at the Fusion Film Festival in New York City, March 2004.
The next Altman-Fialho production was Umney's Last Case, based on the story by Stephen King
Rodney Altman is currently working on an adaptation of T.E.D. Klein’s The Ceremonies.
Echoes 1990
In January 1988, Hollywood filmmaker Steve Muscarella optioned the film rights to Lawrence C. Connolly’s “Echoes,” a story that had originally appeared in Rod Serling’s Twilight Zone Magazine in February 1983. The Victory Theatre of Encino, California, signed to produce the film.
Between its original publication and the release of the film, Connolly’s story remained in print by appearing in a number of retrospective anthologies, among them Year’s Best Horror Stories, HorrorStory 4, and 100 Great Short-Short Stories.
The film débuted at the Chaplin Theatre in Hollywood on June 14, 1990.
Steve Muscarella went on to direct for the hit television series Kirk (1995-97).
This Way to Egress
Shortly before his untimely death in May 2002, British filmmaker Charly Cantor produced a final draft of a screenplay adaptation of Connolly’s short story (v.t. “Traumatic Descent).
The film was under option for a number of years, and for a while David Slade anticipated directing the film.
