The Craic of Night:
When Storytellers Shine @ Riley’s

july storytellers 2 (2)All-Star Story Night returns to Riley’s Pour House on December 29, when the top storytellers and spoken-word performers from the past year will return for a night of amazing stories. It’s a chance to relax in an authentic Irish pub and engage in the time-honored tradition of craic — the art storytelling.

The photo at left was taken last July at Riley’s outdoor venue. Theme was Life’s Adventures. Naturally, this month’s event will be held inside, but the adventures will continue.

Michael BrewerAmong our confirmed guests is Michael Steven Brewer, a Pittsburgh actor who has appeared at Prime Stage, Carlow University, and The Throughline Theatre.

A poet as well as an actor, Michael made his Riley’s debut in August, when he presented an original poem about mind games and Christmas. We’re looking forward to having him back this month, when the poem’s imagery will be especially timely.

Also returning for a repeat performance is kinetic performer Anna Voelker, who brought down the house in June with her showstopping presentation of an original poem “Cosmic Curiosity.” You can check out her performance below.

In addition to our featured poets, there will be plenty of stories and possibly a few songs as well. So save the date and stop back here soon for more announcements about Riley’s All-Star Night lineup.

Until then: Bhi craic agus ceol againn . . . and scop on!
