Looking ahead to The Next Big Thing.

Two months ago, as Frankenstorm raged through the region and I was steeling myself for a rainy journey north to World Fantasy in Toronto, my good friend Stephen Volk (award-winning screenwriter of Ghostwatch and The Awakening) asked me if I wanted to take part on The Next Big Thing. Alas, I had too much on my plate at the time, and I had to pass. Fortunately, this month, the opportunity has come again, thanks to Alice Henderson, author of Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Portal Through Time, Voracious, and the forthcoming Fresh Meat (based on the hit TV series Supernatural).

“The Next Big Thing” is a series of blog entries by different writers. When one is tagged in a post, he or she responds by posting answers to a set of questions and tagging . . . .
