\"\"<\/a>What is the sound of horror?<\/p>\n

We explored the question at last week\u2019s World Horror Convention <\/a>in Salt Lake City, with a multi-media reading from Voices: Tales of Horror<\/a><\/em>.  As part of the on-going 21st-Century Scop <\/a>project, the presentation featured prose selections set to the music of Veins: The Soundtrack<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

This week, the exploration continues at The Jozart Center for the Arts <\/a>in California, PA, where I\u2019ll be joined by two terrific up-and-coming writers, Sheldon Higdon and Stephanie M. Wytovich.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Sheldon Higdon<\/a> has had over thirty publications, ranging from fiction to non-fiction to poetry, in numerous magazines and books. His work has appeared in Rue Morgue Magazine<\/a><\/em>, Shroud Magazine<\/a><\/em>, The Portland Magazine<\/em>, Necrotic Tissue Magazine<\/a><\/em>, Horrorwired<\/em>, Death Be Not Proud<\/a><\/em>, and Northern Haunts<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Stephanie M. Wytovich <\/a>is a Rhysling Award <\/a>nominee (for her poem \u201cThe Craving\u201d) who is currently pursuing an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction at Seton Hill University<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jozart will be the perfect venue for this event.<\/p>\n

At World Horror we had to make due with portable equipment set up minutes before the reading. It went well, but at Jozart we\u2019ll be able to work with a system that has been calibrated for the performance space \u2013 always an ideal situation.<\/p>\n
