A former contributing writer for the Discovery Channel magazines, he is also a prize-winning playwright, produced screenwriter, prolific essayist, and the first Pennsylvania writer to win the prestigious Drue Heinz Literature Prize. Connolly (the 21st-Century Scop) is the author of the Veins Cycle books, the first of which,\u00a0<\/em>Veins\u00a0<\/a>(2008), has just been released for the first time in a special\u00a0Kindle\u00a0<\/a>edition (complete with the original illustrations) from\u00a0Fantasist Enterprises<\/a>. \u00a0The third book in the series,\u00a0<\/em>Vortex<\/a>, (with illustrations by\u00a0Rhonda Libbey<\/a>) will debut in print and ebook on July 1.<\/em><\/p>\n
