Execute & Run
It’s been a month since my previous post. That’s generally an indication that I’m neck-deep in a writing project. As I’ve pointed out before, I’m a bit of a monomaniac. One thing at a time, that’s me.
A similar gap occurred in January-February 2024 while I was working on a novel titled Minute-Men: Execute & Run, which will be released this fall under Arc Manor’s Caezik Science-Fiction imprint.
The book started as a screenplay collaboration with brother Christopher Connolly, but when the film was delayed (first by Covid, then by the writers strike) I used the downtime to write the novel. Now, with the book in the pipeline, interest in the film is again picking up steam. More on that soon!
Mr. A. E. Poe Presents
Also coming this fall (and the reason for my latest stretch of radio silence) is a new script that Prime Stage Theatre has commissioned for their 2025 season. Tentatively titled Mr. E. A. Poe Presents, the play will feature adaptations of four of Poe’s best-known works: “The Fall of the House of Usher,” “The Tell-Tale Heart,” “The Raven,” and “Murders in the Rue Morgue.”
Prime Stage produced 35 episodes of my Mystery Theatre podcast between 2020-23. They are also the folks who staged my Frankenstein adaptation in 2022, so the Poe production is in very good hands.
One-Minute Videos
Also, you may have noticed a new V-Blog section on this website. Added in November with assistance from webmaster W. H. Horner, the V-Blog features a roster of short reviews and news items.
Releasing under the banner One-Minute Videos, the mini-movies will provide a platform for reviews of films, books, and music as well as news updates about this year’s writing projects.
More to Come
Add to these the ongoing development of a film based on my story “Prime Time!” (The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, June 2001), and 2025 looks to be a productive year.
Stay tuned. We’re just getting started.
